Solid and optimistic Danish hotel market at year-start 2025

In 2024, the Danish hotel mar ket reached new heights with an impressive 3.26% growth in hotel overnights in January-October com pared to the same period in 2023, a new record for the third year in a row.

Copenhagen cemented its position as Denmark’s larg est hotel market as the city alone accounted for over 40% of total overnight stays nationwide in 2024. All regions enjoyed overall growth in the hotel segment, with the number of overnight stays reaching historic levels - apart from Copenhagen environs, which saw a year-on-year decline in both leisure- and business-related overnights. Copenhagen differs from the rest of the country by attracting a preponderance of foreign hotel guests rather than domestic guests. In 2024, foreign guests accounted for two-thirds of all overnight stays in the city, with US vis itors leading the way.
