Located along the coastline, this area has been successful in offering attractive dwellings nestled between the mod ern beach area of Amager Strandpark to the east and the Copenhagen Metro line to the west. In the northern part of the former industrial area along Strandlodsvej and Ved Amagerbanen, redevelopment is currently taking place, with numerous new residential units scheduled to come on the market in the years ahead. Bryggens Bastion Situated at Njalsgade/Ørestads Boulevard in the popular Copenhagen district of Islands Brygge, Bryggens Bastion neighbours the listed military monument called Faste Batteri, the only remnant of the 17th century artillery bas tion in this location. Today, the area is being developed into a new urban district, on completion comprising 125,000 sq m mixed-use residential/commercial space. A substan tial part of the area, 52,000 sq m, constituting the last four

undeveloped building plots, have been acquired by Domis from Bach Gruppen, the latter developing the remaining 73,000 sq m. Domis plans to develop both residential and commercial space on the four plots. Most of the district is designated for a mix of housing, in cluding multi-storey apartment blocks, terraced houses and town houses. Two imposing towers, standing 24 and 31 sto reys tall, respectively, will serve as the area’s landmarks. The development is driven by a focus on creating a green and family-friendly district, its appeal being supported by ex cellent connectivity in terms of metro and bus services along with proximity to green spaces and central Copenhagen, all within biking distance. Wedged in between Islands Brygge, Ørestad Nord and Amagerbro, Bryggens Bastion represents one of very few remaining infill development areas in a central location not only on Amager but in Copenhagen in general.
