Note: Rental-housing burden denotes the ratio between payable rent and income, whereas ownership-housing burden denotes the ratio between ownership housing costs and income. In this context, income is the average disposable household income of residents in terraced housing and apartments built post-1992. Rent levels based on average values for residential rental properties subject to open market rent. Similarly, selling prices are based on average values. Calculations are for a residential unit of 80 sq m, assuming an annuity loan composed of 80% mortgage loan and 10% bank loan. In the calculation of ownership-housing burden we have factored in instalments along with maintenance and ownership costs.
