spending compared to 2022-2023. Although relatively weak, the uptick suggests that consumers are beginning to take a more positive view of the future. This is also reflected in the Retail Business Tendency Survey, which rose from -3 in January 2024 to 3 in December 2024, reflecting that companies have positive expectations of increasing turnover and are more optimistic about their situation. Although inflation has dropped significantly,
retail prices are still on the rise. This continues to dampen Danes’ willingness to spend, and is expected to have an effect into 2025. The uncertainty is also reflected in retail vacancy rates, which have seen a slight uptrend through out 2024. At year-end 2024, the overall retail vacancy level was 3.2%. We therefore recommend market players to continue to keep a close eye on trends in the retail sec tor as well as the financial situation of businesses in 2025.
