contains no grocery shops or supermarkets, but super market chains such as Netto and føtex are located nearby. Nørrebro Bycenter benefits from its location in a densely populated neighbourhood. In addition, the opening of Nørrebro metro station has significantly improved acces sibility to the area. In a retailing context, the previously unattractive street of Jægersborggade at Nørrebro has evolved into a trendy hotspot in recent years, offering a mix of specialty shops, cafés, bakery shops and restau rants. Vanløse Located on the western border of the City of Copen hagen, Vanløse is one of the city’s smallest districts in terms of inhabitants. Nevertheless, with Vanløse station offering both S-train and metro links to the rest of Copen hagen, accessibility has greatly improved. Next to the station lies Kronen Vanløse shopping centre, completed in October 2017. The first floor of the shopping centre has undergone comprehensive reconstruction, completed at year-start 2025. Today, Kronen Vanløse features some 60 shop units, including a føtex supermarket, a fitness
centre and some cafés. On upper floors, Kronen Vanløse features 118 residential units.
Valby/Carlsberg City District The district of Valby is currently undergoing massive transformation, with former disused industrial facilities giving way to new attractive mixed-use commercial and residential areas. In 2024, the former Ny Ellebjerg station, now renamed Copenhagen Syd (Copenhagen South), was linked to the Copenhagen Metro. In Valby, Spinderiet is a shopping centre located next to Valby station. Inau gurated in 2008, it incorporates the converted buildings of a cotton mill dating from 1907. Featuring 50+ shop units, including a Kvickly supermarket and nine eateries, Spinderiet also offers office space and residential units. In 2023, the shopping centre opened a two-storeyed McDonald's restaurant next to the square at Tingstedet. Bordering on Valby, Vesterbro and Frederiksberg, the Carlsberg City District is one of the most exciting urban development zones in Copenhagen with an emerging retail scene, still to be stabilised. The area has mainly attracted a number of speciality and design shops, all with a focus on sustainability and good quality.
